Container Plant Factory :40 ft Vegetable Container Farm Cherry Radish Programme
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
For Remote Site and Institutional Catering, the point of this Cherry Radish programme is not maximum yield but stable specification: 20 - 40 g per head, 22 - 28 days per cycle and 12 - 15 cycles a year, with batch-to-batch variation held inside an acceptable band.
Logging covers temperature, humidity, CO2, EC, pH and light by batch, supporting order audits and origin documentation.
A representative root crop with a narrow harvest window; schedule against orders to avoid oversupply.
Remote sites and institutional kitchens use the unit to fix unreliable leafy supply; Cherry Radish is harvestable in 22 - 28 days without long-haul deliveries.
CROP AND OUTPUT DATA
Variety | Cherry Radish (Root crop) |
Growing cycle (transplant to harvest) | 22 - 28 days |
Unit weight | 20 - 40 g |
Plants per cycle | approx. 3,300 - 5,800 |
Yield per cycle | 100 - 160 kg |
Cycles per year | 12 - 15 |
Annual output (estimate) | 1,200 - 2,400 kg |
Propagation | Hybrid direct seeding |
Crop difficulty | Moderate |
Figures follow the 40 ft standard container baseline with about five growing tiers. Yield per cycle and annual output are estimates; actual results vary with tier count, light recipe, CO2 level and crop management.
KEY ADVANTAGES
· 3,300 - 5,800 plants per cycle and 100 - 160 kg per cycle make output plannable against contracts.
· The insulated envelope with fresh air and dehumidification holds recipe conditions all year.
· Batch records of temperature, EC, pH and light trace each harvest back to a specific tier.
· Rotation and zoning reduce disease pressure and chemical inputs.
· The unit can be shared with other leafy varieties on a weekly rotation for a more flexible product mix.
· Rated Moderate in difficulty and run from process cards, the crop is workable by general staff.
· The closed hydroponic loop uses far less water than soil culture, which suits water-scarce sites.
· The 40 ft ISO shell ships on a standard flatbed and is lifted into place on site.

CLIMATE AND CONTROL
The unit uses a standard 40 ft shell with about five growing tiers, hydroponic or aeroponic depending on variety. Insulation, fresh air, dehumidification and LED lighting form a closed environment: outside climate affects energy use, not the crop.
Nutrient solution runs from the tank through pumps and manifolds to each tier and returns via filtration, disinfection and inline monitoring. EC and pH are corrected automatically against the recipe, removing manual mixing drift.
CULTIVATION AND SCHEDULING
Photoperiod and intensity follow the variety; in low-light seasons Cherry Radish gets a longer photoperiod to protect the cycle length.
The standard schedule assumes a 40 ft unit with about five tiers: plant one batch and harvest one batch each week, giving 12 - 15 Cherry Radish cycles a year. Adjust to order structure and harvest labour.
DELIVERY, TRAINING AND SERVICE
Multi-unit sites share water treatment and mixing while each container keeps independent climate and lighting, so different varieties and schedules can run side by side.
Remote support reads controller logs to diagnose recipe drift and equipment faults, resolving most issues without a site visit.
